If you would like to keep the fish that are caught, you will need to bring a cooler that can be left in your vehicle during the excursion. You should bring along any specific food or snacks that you may want for the day but I will have snacks available as well. Sunscreen may also be a good idea depending on the time of year. The boat is equipped with a cooler that I will have filled with iced-down bottled water. You can bring along a small cooler for any other beverages that you may want. You are welcome to bring your own fishing gear or any special lures that you may want to try out, keeping in mind that available space on the boat is limited. I will provide everything that you will need to catch fish. We will only be using artificial lures to catch the fish. I have different styles of rod and reel combos (bait casting, spin casting and closed-faced spinning reels). You may want to bring along rain gear as showers can pop up at any time. I will provide life vests which must be worn any time the outboard motor is running.

What to Bring

We will meet up at the boat ramp or marina and load the boat. I will go over the boater safety rules with you and we will head out to our first spot to begin fishing. We will be fishing out of a tournament-rigged 2020 SKEETER FXR 21. I realize that everyone has different needs and expectations when they head out on a guided trip. We will spend our time on the lake together however you feel will be the most productive for you. If you have little or no fishing experience, you may want to spend some time to learn how to use different types rod/reel combos and lures and fish different types of cover and structure. If you are an avid fisherman and want to hit 'em hard and fast, I will do my best to keep you on the fish. Or maybe you are somewhere in the middle. My goal is to give you the best trip possible. I promise that I will do my best to make our time together informative, productive and fun!

As both lakes have size restrictions for largemouth bass, the fish that we are allowed to keep are limited, This is definitely NOT a "fill-the-freezer" type of charter although you are allowed to keep (5) five legal-sized fish per person. I practice catch-and-release, but you are more than welcome to take the fish home with you to clean and prepare them as you like.

I offer full-day and half-day guided largemouth bass fishing trips for 1 or 2 persons maximum per trip on Joe Pool Lake and Grapevine Lake. Each lake offers a slightly different experience, but both are great fisheries with the potential for holding trophy-sized largemouth. Let me take you out for a day of bass fishing fun!
